Course overview
Part one is a brief classroom discussion of cardiac anatomy, with emphasis on the coronary arteries, their structure and function, including the effects of plaque lesions and obstruction. Part two is an instructor-guided practice session examining a normal ECG with the goal of making normal parameters and patterns a reference template by which to compare abnormal ECGs. Part three is an instructor-guided practice session, using real ECGs and real patient scenarios to help participants identify the signs of STEMI, including, but not limited to, J point elevation. Emphasis is on signs other than J point elevation so that participants will feel more confident in identifying M.I. when signs of STEMI are subtle.
