Course overview

This 24 CE class is our combined 12 CE Swedish Oncology & Bodywork for Cancer PLUS our 12 CE Hour Manual Lymphatic Drainage Extremities Basics training. 12 hours will be spent learning about cancer and how to provide Oncology Swedish side-lying massage, semi-recumbent massage, mini foot reflexology and a Sweet Session for those who are contraindicated for regular bodywork. Another 12 hours will be spent learning about the lymphatic system, and how to perform lymphatic drainage on arms and legs in both acute and chronic settings, such as with lymphedema, a common side effect of cancer treatments. Combined, these 24 hours provide an incredible experience and review on the many different ways a massage therapist can safely work with cancer patients and survivors. PLEASE NOTE: This 24 CE hour training is to guide therapists on how to work with cancer. It does not include full body or advanced post-surgical manual lymphatic drainage training. MOST cancer patients and survivors will only seek MLD service on their affected arm or leg due to lymphedema/chronic swelling/oncology damage.
