Course overview

The resident's bill of rights applies to all people living in a healthcare facility. Resident rights cover more than basic human rights. They also cover rights as they relate to the healthcare services that your organization provides. All staff members are responsible for upholding these rights. To make sure that you are providing for and protecting the rights of the residents in your care, you must know and understand what these rights are. This course discusses resident rights and guidelines on how to maintain them. The goal of this course is to educate direct care workers and general staff in assisted living, long-term care, and skilled nursing facilities about resident rights.
