Course overview

NEW BODYWORK THERAPY In hospice situations, many patients cannot get undressed, or they might have medical conditions such as dementia, and become confused if they forget why they are naked or why a strange person is touching them during a standard massage appointment. This is why we have created a bodywork session called a Sweet Session, which incorporates both massage and other subtle bodyworks to provide a more appropriate appointment in a hospice setting. This training includes Instructor Demonstrations with student practice along time of our new bodywork called a Sweet Session. Sweet Sessions are usually provided to clothed clients, and they can receive the session in the supine, semi-recumbent or seated position. It also includes working a fully clothed client in a wheelchair, plus other vital information for working in hospice situations. Sweet Sessions can be provided to the most compromised clients including most that would be contraindicated for regular massage. A Sweet Session includes gentle massage, joint rotation, bone tracing, comforting holds and a general relaxation routine.
