Course overview
Human trafficking is a global health crisis of basic human rights. Victims and traffickers can be anyone, regardless of nationality, ethnicity, religious beliefs, and gender. Victims of human trafficking rarely interface with anyone outside of other victims and their traffickers. Therefore, when victims and traffickers appear in healthcare facilities seeking care, providers of any discipline need to be prepared to identify and respond appropriately to help their patients. This course will detail the dynamics of trafficking, methods to identify victims, how to respond appropriately, and what resources are available to victims of trafficking.
