In this onsite event massage class, you will learn multiple, fully-clothed massage routines: half of the training (6 CEs) will be dedicated to working with athletes and teaches basic sports massage event routines/work. Sports Massage Training in this class includes basic theory & science of: Sporting Massage Event Intake Process How to setup for Sporting Event Massage How to Perform Quick Turnover & Sanitation Techniques at Sporting Events A 10-15 minutes Sports Massage Routine to be performed clothed at Sporting Events Review of Muscle Movement, Contraction & Stretch Reflex (or lack of in extreme athletes) How to Relieve Muscle Cramping with Hands-on Practice of Reciprocal Inhibition Review of Thermal Therapy & Cryotherapy Practices in Sports (includes how to make cryotherapy packs from household goods for sports strains and sprains) Active Isolated Stretching in Sports Recognizing Heat Exhaustion and Heat Stroke in Athletes Training Also Includes: A Jostling, Ischemic Compression Sports Massage Routine with Instructor Demonstration plus Student Practice Along on a Live Model if they have one. Ice Massage Demonstration & Practice Along for Tennis Elbow and Golfer's Elbow Half of the class time (6 hours) will review some business basics about how to execute a chair massage on-site event on your own plus the common supplies required for a proper, proficient and business-building chair massage operation. Training includes: introduction to chair massage application: how, where, when and why brief chair massage contraindications scientific research that shows the benefits of a quick chair massage routine how to market and setup a chair massage event what to review and consider for corporate event chair massage execution a list of supplies required to execute chair massage events setup and sanitation practices for chair events we will practice in 2 different portable chairs: primary practice and the most amount of time will be spent on back, neck, shoulder, arm, hand and hip massage in a regular seated massage chair less time will be spent showing and practicing massage in a portable relaxing chair for onsite or corporate use very short hands-on practical chair massage routines will be demonstrated for: Vigorous Routine Hand & Arm Routine Lower Extremity & Foot Routine (in relaxing chair) Low Back Work Passive Head & Neck Routine Seated Chair Use with Triangular Wedge Cushion MOST OF THE HANDS-ON TECHNIQUES USED IN THESE ROUTINES CAN BE ADAPTED TO REGULAR MASSAGE ROOM PRACTICE. Combined, this training will prepare massage therapists to work onsite events in multiple capacities.
