Course overview

The purpose of this course is to provide health care professionals with a review of Medical Emergencies. Great course for Health care providers, RN, LPN, APRN, Therapists, and other individuals with training to be able recognize and effectively respond to common medical emergencies that can occur in health care settings. The course reviews the strategies to prevent medical emergencies, to recognize and respond effectively to medical emergencies including life-threatening situations. Objectives / Goals: After successful completion of this course the participants will be able to: 1. Define medical emergencies, 2. Describe common medical emergencies, 3. Describe how to recognize sign/symptoms medical emergencies, 4. Discuss preventative strategies that can be implemented, 5. Describe appropriate interventions and treatment during medical emergencies. 6. Discuss various emergency resources that are available.
