At the conclusion of this course, the participant will be able to 1. Discuss the epidemiology of HIV/AIDS. 2. List various modes of transmission of HIV. 3. List the types of HIV testing available. 4. Review the confidentiality and testing-related requirements of the Florida Omnibus AIDS Act. 5. Discuss protocols for healthcare workers exposed to blood. 6. Discuss issues in HIV/AIDS prevention and risk reduction. 7. Summarize the clinical management and treatment of HIV/AIDS. 8. Summarize HIV prevention strategies, including behavioral change.
