This 1-hour live course is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education and approved by the Florida Board of Pharmacy. The course has airings on the following dates: June 14, 2022, 10AM ET and December 12, 2022, 8PM ET. Despite the established benefits of critical care pharmacists (CCP) as essential members of the ICU healthcare team in the delivery of patient-centered care, many critically ill adults do not receive CCP care. Critical care pharmacy practice models have been shown to help justify new CCP positions and optimally allocate existing CCP resources but important barriers to optimizing critical care clinical pharmacy services exist. Using a gap analysis approach, this program provides strategies for optimizing novel CCP staffing models regardless of the existing level of services at an institution and identifies potential approaches to better inform and strengthen these services in ICUs across different types of hospitals.
