Course overview
Emerging research in early childhood education cites the decrease in play as a possible cause for increased difficulties in attention and self-control in young children. This 2-hour, fast-paced, eye-opening, view-on-demand, recorded webinar provides attendees with current research to demonstrate the direct correlation between play opportunities and the development of executive functioning skills using a developmental play approach. If you have ever wished for justification and research to support your therapeutic use of play, this is the course for you! At the end of this course, you will be able to (1) define play as a critical ingredient to development; (2) identify developmental milestones for EF in young children; (3) state current research supporting play's role in the development of self-regulation and attention; (4) list play activities according to skills to be developed, and coordinate with goal development; and (5) identify a variety of creative and unique play activities for young children.
