Course overview

Participants will be able to describe high conflict couples and families, will be able to name the negative consequences of extended battles, will be able to describe how Systems Theory is essential to understanding circular negative interactions and intervene effectively with families stuck in destructive loops, will be able to describe negative interaction patterns and clients with diagnoses prone to ongoing conflict, will be able to name research based couples interventions in Emotion Focused Therapy and Gottmans Sound Relationship House, and will be able to describe individual interventions effective with high conflict families, such as Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness and Anger/Stress Management.
