Course overview

Anticoagulant medications are commonly used in older adults to treat or prevent conditions that are debilitating or even cause death. Even though these medications can save lives, they are considered high-risk medications due to their complexity. This course discusses what anticoagulant medications are and their adverse reactions. It also discusses care interventions for individuals on anticoagulants. The goal of this course is to educate medication aides and direct care workers in post-acute care on anticoagulant medications.
