Course overview

Coping effectively with unexpected loss such as the death of a loved one, a terrible accident, or serious health problems can be challenging and evoke strong emotions. This webinar will assist therapists in helping them process grief effectively with their clients. Life seems to be business as usual until a shocking event happens that can rock our world. The concepts presented will provide tools for dealing with life losses in healthy ways. The presenter will also discuss the new prolonged Grief Disorder as featured in the recently released DSM- 5 TR. Based on the concepts of grief processing and helping both therapist and clients develop their applications of how to work with grief. This course includes the concepts of helping clients position their grief within the bigger picture of their entire life, listening to their own hearts and responses to the triggering event, eventually finding a place of acceptance, and finally seeking help from others to move through the grieving process.
