Course overview

Racial tensions within the United States continue to rise due to systematic and institutionalized racism. Culturally sensitive knowledge and skills are needed now more than ever. Ongoing introspection and reflection of self in a sociocultural world is critical for a counselor to truly meet the needs of their diverse clients. This presentation will discuss racism within the counseling relationship and strategies counselors can use to identify and analyze blind spots and unconscious bias they may possess.
