CHPN: Pain Assessment and Non-Pharmacological Management

Course overview
The Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (CHPN) must demonstrate competency in identifying sources of pain and factors that influence the experience of pain. Expertise in hospice and palliative nursing is also demonstrated through knowledge and application of the comprehensive pain assessment. Nurses who achieve certification must understand the role of non-pharmacological and complementary therapies in managing pain. The goal of this course is to equip nurses in hospice and palliative care to assess pain and implement non-pharmacological interventions.
