Compression therapy is an important tool for the management of edema. When edema is present in the lower extremities it is crucial the healthcare provider determines the root cause of the edema and if the patient has a wound, infection, or any vascular abnormalities that would indicate the safety and effectiveness of compression therapy. This course will review the various sources of edema, how compression therapy can treat edema, and the types of compression products available.
