The presentation, Guiding the Conversation with Motivational Interviewing: Focus on Change Talk and Sustain Talk, will begin with definitions of change talk and sustain talk. There will be a discussion about appropriate target behaviors. An overview of the research on change talk will be provided. Attendees will learn concrete strategies for eliciting change talk and will practice identifying change talk. This presentation is considered intermediate and is designed for individuals who have some prior knowledge of motivational interviewing and an understanding of motivational interviewing spirit.
