Overview of Trauma- and Stressor-Related Disorders and Applicable Treatment Modalities

Course overview

While most people are familiar with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), few realize that there are several other disorders in the DSM-5 that fall under the new category of Trauma- and Stressor-Related Disorders. Since PTSD has been covered in an earlier workshop, this workshop will focus on the other disorders under this new category to the exclusion of PTSD. Attendees will, therefore, be introduced to the other Trauma- and Stressor-Related Disorders. As such, participants will be given a brief overview of how these problems appear in real time, what co-occurring disorders often accompany them, and what treatment options are considered best with these issues. At the conclusion of this workshop in regards to the Trauma- and Stressor-Related Disorders (not including PTSD).
