The ABCs of the CBC

Course overview

The CBC is one of the most commonly ordered laboratory tests. We, as health professionals, must be able to recognize abnormal values and be able to relate them to the clinical presentation. We should also be able to anticipate additional diagnostic studies that may be requested by the physician based on the CBC abnormalities. This course covers many areas that nurses and other healthcare practitioners are not familiar with, such as: left and right shifts, rouleaux, and RDW, MCV, MCH and MCHC and their role in diagnosing different types of anemia, and much, much more.
