Course overview
This course is part of a series that prepares nurses for the Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) exam. Rehabilitation registered nurse strives to optimize a patients functional abilities and well-being. Understanding anatomy, physiology, and interventions to help support these systems are competencies rehabilitation nurses come into the practice with and hone as they advance in their careers. Having knowledge of the resources to augment deficits patients experience is essential to helping people return to their highest level of function and adapt to their new normal after an illness or injury. Realizing activity tolerance and pharmacological and non-pharmacological resources to help people cope and move forward in their healthcare journey safely will allow them to achieve self-care within their capabilities. The goal of this course is to provide nurses preparing to take the CRRN exam with information regarding anatomy and physiology, technology, assistive devices, and other strategies to ensure patients are safe and attain the highest level of function they can.
