Course overview
EMS responders will encounter survivors of rape and sexual assault in many different ways, including those affected by intimate partner violence. It is important that EMS responders understand their role in identifying and treating patients, and how to correctly document or preserve evidence for the court system. This course will review the legal aspects of rape and sexual assault, the emotional and physical trauma associated with the experience, and how to identify and care for survivors.
