Course overview
This course introduces the learner to the state of asthma globally and nationally. Asthma prevalence and cost burden to society will be discussed. National objectives for asthma management will be presented. This course also focuses on the definition, pathophysiology, consequences of lack of control, and clinical signs and symptoms of asthma. Common asthma triggers as well as individual and family education regarding basic environmental control are also discussed. The content reflects current research findings and evidence-based practice guidelines.
