Course overview
Ethical issues are inherent in care provided to patients and their families in palliative care. One of your most important and privileged nursing roles is to serve as an advocate individually and collectively for patients and their families by fostering communication about healthcare decisions. In critical care settings, where the acuity is high and technology and treatments are complex, this is particularly important. In this course, you will learn about common ethical concerns in palliative care as well as how to address these issues. The goal of this course is to provide nurses in critical care with knowledge of ethical concerns in palliative care.
