Course overview
This course examines the role of high reliability in healthcare organizations to engage all healthcare practitioners in the prevention of medical error. Through a systems approach to patient safety, the journey to zero defects or errors is a bold and evolving undertaking through the concepts of high reliability. These concepts include preoccupation with failure, reluctance to simplify, sensitivity to operations, deference to expertise, and commitment to resilience
