Course overview

Participants will be able to state general supervisory principles, will be able to describe the various phases of supervisee development and the developmental tasks of each phase, from novice student to senior professional, will be able to describe ways to adapt supervision based on supervisee phase of development in order to promote supervisee growth and professional effectiveness, will be able to name intervention strategies to assist supervisees who are experiencing disengagement or stagnation, and will be able to describe the role of the supervisor in licensure gatekeeping.
