Assessing and Treating Opioid Use Disorder

Course overview

Opioid use disorder is a chronic but treatable disease. Deaths from opioid overdoses are a growing public health crisis. The problematic use of illegal and prescribed opioids contributes to rising numbers of opioid overdose deaths.The goal of this course is to provide addictions, behavioral health counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychology, and social work professionals in health and human services with information on how to assess and treat individuals with opioid use disorder.
