This program will provide acute and critical care clinicians with evidence supporting the use of noninvasive positive pressure ventilation as well as strategies for its application. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to: describe the advantages of NPPV vs. endotracheal intubation, state the difference between bilevel support and continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), and discuss alternative interface devices and related care for patients requiring NPPV.
