Pharmacology of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease
Tracking # 20-1004096
Course overview
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a common chronic medical problem that affects up to 1 in every 3 people worldwide (Kang et al., 2022). Resulting in over 110,000 hospital visits each year, GERD is the number one diagnosis of all gastrointestinal (GI) disorders (Richter & Vaezi, 2021). While there have been numerous advances in the surgical and endoscopic treatment of GERD, a multifaceted approach is necessary for the effective, evidence-based treatment of this disease.
