Module 4: Labor and Birth

Course overview

In this module participants are introduced to the stages and mechanisms of normal labor from both biomedical and East Asian Medicine perspectives. Biomedical information includes an overview of labor assessment, monitoring and interventions, as well as common complications. We then introduce the integrative diagnostic framework and East Asian medical techniques used by acupuncturists during labor and birth.
