Vascular Access Education & Skills Workshop

Course overview

This 7.5-hour workshop includes an overview and demonstration of the peripheral IV catheter insertion procedure, as well as the appropriate nursing interventions for proper care and maintenance of central venous access devices and obtaining a blood sample from a central venous catheter. Simulated hands-on practice for the insertion and removal of a peripheral IV catheter is also included.
