Course overview

Recruiting qualified professional Mohs staff is an arduous task. Once recruited, hospitals have trouble retaining their professional staff. Throughout the entire healthcare profession, professionals are aging out and retiring, and there is a struggle within the health-care system to find professional replacements. Studies have described the experience, efficacy, and value of the Peer Mentoring Program for mentees and mentors, as well as areas for improvement. Mentorship can have an overall positive effect and has shown to be valuable to both the mentor and mentee. This study encouraged me to create an in-house mentorship program to address the shortage of qualified technicians because retirements and vacancies outnumber new graduates.
