Course overview

The participants would be able to understand their role in dealing with residents with cognitive impairment and difficult behavior. Be able to explain difference between cognitive impairment and dementia. List common behaviors associated with cognitive impairment and dementia. Describe strategies to enhance communication with cognitively impaired individuals, and identify factors that interfere with communication in dealing with them.
