Patient Abuse and Assault

Course overview

The prevalence of abuse and assault, coupled with the deep physical and psychological impacts of such incidents on victims and their loved ones, make it imperative that emergency responders be familiar with the unique patient care considerations and characteristics inherent in these situations. This course aims to equip paramedics to respond professionally, compassionately, and effectively to incidences of abuse and assault, including partner abuse, elder abuse, child abuse, and sexual assaults involving adults and/or children.
