ALOGLIPTIN WAS FIRST APPROVED BY THE FDA IN JANUARY 2013 AS A THERAPY TO IMPROVE GLYCEMIC CONTROL IN ADULTS WITH TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS (T2DM). IT IS A DIPEPTIDYL PEPTIDASE-4 (DPP-4) INHIBITOR USED TO IMPROVE GLYCEMIC CONTROL IN CONJUNCTION WITH DIET AND EXERCISE.
