Course overview

Broken-hearted, bereaved clients just want the pain to stop, and they often expect their therapist to have a map to find their healing. Although everyones loss and pain are unique, this session offers tools and techniques to help your clients normalize the grief experience and move toward healing the mind and body. Youll have an opportunity to experience these techniques for yourself, many of which can be done in the chair so it can easily be translated into your practice. Youll discover how to help clients: Learn the keys to finding acceptance, excavating pain, and exploring meaning after loss Use their mind and body to transform anger and fear, two common responses to loss, into fuel for healing Tap into a source of resilience through cognitive awareness, flexibility, and intentional body movements Address guilt, shame, and stigma associated with grief by understanding how the mind finds control in guilt, isolates in shame, and can release stigma though movement
