Course overview

This course provides rehabilitation therapy professionals with foundational knowledge of the most common types of headaches: migraine, tension-type, trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias, and secondary (e.g., cervicogenic). Learners will be able to recognize the common signs and symptoms and understand the potential causes and treatment options for each type. The role of therapy professionals in providing care is discussed, including when referral to another member of the interprofessional team is indicated. The goal of this course is to provide physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology professionals with foundational knowledge of the common types of headaches.
