This course is designed to educate Florida licensed acupuncturists on the prevalence of both sex and labor trafficking, how to recognize it, and how to respond to it. The course will cover the legal framework surrounding human trafficking, the physical and psychological effects of trafficking, how to identify individuals who may be victims of human trafficking, how to report cases of human trafficking, and the resources available to victims. This online course can be conveniently completed from your computer or mobile device at your own pace. Your course completion will automatically be reported to CE Broker for credit toward your license renewal.

Through the course of Understanding and Addressing Human Trafficking, we hope to achieve the following six objectives:
1. Define human trafficking and recognize its different forms, including sex and labor trafficking.
2. Understand the legal framework surrounding human trafficking, including federal and state laws.
3. Identify risk factors and signs of human trafficking in patients, including sex and labor trafficking.
4. Learn how to conduct a trauma-informed assessment and support victims of sex and labor trafficking.
5. Understand how to identify individuals who may be victims of human trafficking and how to report cases of human trafficking.
6. Understand the resources available to victims of human trafficking.
