Course overview

Dementia is a growing concern in the United States and around the world. The number of persons living with dementia is expected to continue to increase and, in the US, many will become residents in nursing homes. Providing care to residents with dementia may be both challenging and rewarding. This is the first part of a series for those providing care to persons living with dementia. An overview of the changes due to dementia as compared to those of the normal aging process will be presented. It will set the stage for more in-depth information in the rest of the series.
