Deep Learning in Digital Melanoma Pathology

Course overview

Melanoma, which only accounts for 1% of all skin cancer cases in the United States, is a deadly disease unless diagnosed and treated in an early stage. Since deep learning has been successfully applied in whole slide imaging analysis, we introduced some state-of-art deep learning methods in analyzing melanoma whole slide images (WSIs) to highlight abnormal skin histology structures from WSIs. This workshop will include a basic overview of Cloud computing, deep learning and computer vision concepts, and a demo of the selected algorithm.
