Shock is characterized by decreased delivery, increased consumption, or inadequate use of oxygen. Manifestations and treatment are dependent on the cause. This course presents the various types of shock, their associated pathophysiology, hemodynamics, and management as well as an overview of disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC).
