Working up an antibody for immunohistochemistry can be a challenge. Data sheets provided by vendors can be a great resource or a total disappointment. Collaboration between the IHC specialist and the pathologist is critical. Let us show you how we work up our antibodies for IHC using formalin-fixed paraffin embedded or frozen rodent tissues with or without guidance from data sheets. Histopathological evaluation of the resulting tissue slides will be examined to help elucidate the pitfalls of nonspecific or background staining. Optimal specific staining of your target is the goal and we hope to give you the steps to get there.
