Treatments for Hypertension

Course overview

Many classes of drugs are used to treat hypertension (HTN). Several guidelines cover what type of drug to use depending on the severity of HTN, comorbidities, and the population affected. Members of the healthcare team should be aware of the antihypertensive medications used to reduce morbidity, prevent complications, and reduce end organ failure. The goal of this course is to assist the healthcare team in keeping up to date with first- and second-line antihypertension medications, including those used in combination for antihypertensive emergencies.
