Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation in the Elder Care Setting

Course overview

Learning to recognize and report abuse and suspicions of abuse is your moral, ethical, and legal responsibility. You are in a key position to notice signs of abuse and to protect the older adults in your care. This course discusses the types of abuse and how to recognize the signs of abuse, neglect, or exploitation. It also discusses how to prevent abuse, neglect, and exploitation. The goal of this course is to educate direct care workers in all post-acute care settings on how to recognize and prevent abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
