This course is beneficial in helping therapists assist patients with successful sensory interventions to promote patients abilities to participate in treatment to their maximum functional potential. Also covered will be the importance of patients accepting comforting person-centered interventions to address behaviors with a non-pharmacological approach. This course also assists therapists in providing effective family and caregiver training to promote the carryover of individualized interventions to keep patients actively participating in activities of choice throughout dementia progressions. Finally, this course will provide beneficial caregiver-training information regarding the positive sensory interventions that are helpful for caregivers to use in order to take care of themselves when they are overwhelmed and headed toward caregiver burnout.
