Learner Objectives The Gulf Coast Chapter of the UHMS continuing education mission is to promote educational activities for physicians and allied health professionals in the local and regional areas based on a needs assessment of the members and on the UHMS Panel of Expert Opinion. These activities will improve the scientific and practical knowledge in the areas of hyperbaric oxygen treatment and diving medicine Objectives: Describe the material decision process in NFPA 99 Explain autoignition temperature of materials The attendees will be able to state the importance of providing complete information when a question is submitted. The attendees will be able to state the importance of having their physician submit clinical inquiries. The attendees will be able to express their understanding that it may take several days to respond to difficult inquiries to allow time to research unusual issues. Understand the basis for the development of the NFPA and PVHO Safety Standards, what the standards provide, and how the standards are enforced. Subject Matter: Introduction/CE Requirements Material Selection for Hyperbaric Use Different communication systems for multi-place MEDFAQs -Tales and Tips Regulatory design & standards for hyperbaric chambers (mono & multi) Hyperbaric Safety Pro Bowl Panel Teaching Methods: Recorded didactic lectures Panels Question & Answer Evaluation Methods: Evaluation is offered at the end of the program through the UHMS Online CME Portal, which evaluates the effectiveness of the meeting, speakers and that no bias was presented, and overall objectives were met.
