What Healthcare Personnel Need to Know More than 200 different diseases can be transmitted from exposure to blood, the most serious infections are hepatitis B virus (HBV), hepatitis C virus (HCV), and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). These guidelines are based upon studies of exposure to bodily fluids within the healthcare system. This program is approved for in-service hours and meets the requirement for Certified Nursing Assistants. It is approved by the Florida Board of Nursing and the Florida Board of Respiratory Care. It is also approved for dietitians and nutrition counselors. Florida Medical Educational Services-FMES is a Florida-based company, offering approved online continuing education credits (CEUs), since 1994, to licensed medical personnel.
