CE Provider Registration Requirements
Educational provider with courses approved by the North Carolina Board of Chiropractic Examiners
When registering as a board approved CE Provider, CE Broker will lead you through a simplified registration process. You will be asked to submit a CE provider profile and primary contact information. You will not be required to submit documentation to register as a provider with CE Broker. Once registered, you will need to submit a course application with applicable documentation.
Chiropractor Course Application Requirements
When submitting a course application, please be prepared to upload a curriculum vitae for each instructor.
Duration of Approval
A seminar approval issued by the Board shall expire at the end of the calendar year for which approved. If the sponsor or co-sponsors of an approved seminar wish to repeat the seminar on a date beyond the approval period, a new application shall be submitted to the Board.
Criteria for Approval
The Board's criteria for approving continuing education seminars is as follows:
- (1) No practice-building or motivational seminars shall be approved;
(2) No seminar shall be approved that requires attendees, in order to be able to utilize the information presented at the seminar, to purchase equipment or clinical supplies available only through the seminar's instructors, sponsors or co-sponsors;
(3) Each seminar subject shall fall within the extent and limitation of chiropractic licensure in this State; and
(4) Each instructor shall submit a curriculum vitae demonstrating that he or she has an educational background in, or professional experience with, the subject or subjects he or she is scheduled to teach.
CCA Level II Education courses must:
- Cover topics within the scope of a CCA Level II – Xray
- Cover topics that are imaging in nature.
Acceptable topics may include:
- Xray physics (appropriate for CCA Level II)
- Xraypositioning
- Xray technique
- Xray anatomy
- Contraindications to imaging
- Other as approved by this board
Prohibited topics include:
- Xray interpretation or diagnosis
- Any topic deemed ineligible by this board
CCA Level I - Clinical Education courses must:
- Cover topics within the scope of a CCA Level I - Clinical
- Cover topics that are clinical in nature.
Acceptable topics may include:
- History
- Exam
- Therapy modalities
- HIPAA
- First Aid
- NC Jurisprudence
- Monitoring prescribed rehab activities
- Other as approved by this board
Prohibited topics include:
- Formulating a diagnosis
- Developing a treatment plan
- Chiropractic Adjustments
- Manual Therapy
- Acupuncture
- Nutritional instruction
- Counseling
- Any therapeutic service that requires licensure
- imaging positioning or interpretation
- Any topic deemed ineligible by this board
Chiropractic Association with Active Membership Base of at least 200 Members
When registering as a rule approved CE Provider, CE Broker will lead you through a simplified registration process. You will be asked to submit a CE provider profile and primary contact information. You will also be required to submit proof of being a Chiropractic Association with Active Membership Base of at least 200 Members.
Chiropractor Course Application Requirements
- (1) No practice-building or motivational seminars shall be approved;
- Cover topics within the scope of a CCA Level II – Xray
- Cover topics that are imaging in nature.
- Xray physics (appropriate for CCA Level II)
- Xraypositioning
- Xray technique
- Xray anatomy
- Contraindications to imaging
- Other as approved by this board
- Xray interpretation or diagnosis
- Any topic deemed ineligible by this board
- Cover topics within the scope of a CCA Level I - Clinical
- Cover topics that are clinical in nature.
- History
