CE Provider Registration Requirements

Educational Provider Registered with the Texas Optometry Board

You will not be required to submit documentation to register as a provider with CE Broker. You will be asked to submit a CE provider profile and primary contact information.

COURSE APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

When submitting a course application for Professional Responsibility, Prescribing Controlled Substances, or Opioids, please be prepared to upload a completed course checklist form, a synopsis of the lecture material to be presented, resumes of the lecturers, if presenting multiple courses in a single event, please list all included courses and their presentation length.

Courses for any of these three subject areas (Professional Responsibility, Prescribing Controlled Substances, or Opioids) will route directly to the board for approval. Once the course has been approved by the Board you will receive notification. The course will then be listed in the provider account and providers can report course completions.

General and Diagnostic/Therapeutic courses are automatically accepted by the board if approved by any of the following entities:
  • American Optometric Council on Education (ACOE)
  • American Optometric Association (AOA) or an affiliate of the AOA
  • American Academy of Optometry (AAO) or an affiliate of AAO
  • Council on Optometric Provider Education (COPE)
  • American Board of Optometry
  • Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (AACME)
  • Association of Regulatory Boards of Optometry
You will need to attach proof of approval from one of the above entities.

If a General or Diagnostic/Therapeutic course is not approved by one of the above, it will route to the board for approval.
